Ellerbe Creek Trail (A Segment of the North/South Greenway)

Trail Status:
The majority of this trail is paved, off-road.  The section of the trail just south of Murray Street is also called the Bronto Trail.

  • Length:  1.2 miles
  • Surface: Paved trail, 10 feet wide
  • Begins at Stadium Drive
  • Ends at  Club Blvd (Parking at Northgate Park)
  • Other Access Points:  Murray Street, Glendale Heights Park, Lavender Street, Northgate Park,
  • Schools:  Club Blvd Magnet Elementary
  • Parks:  Rock Quarry (on road along Stadium Drive), Glendale Heights, Northgate Park & Dog Park
  • Restrooms:  Rock Quarry Park, Northgate Park (pavilion on Lavender St.)

This trail is one of the oldest trails in the Durham Trails and Greenways System.  As a part of the North/South Greenway, it runs through the center of Durham, providing excellent recreational opportunities as well as good bike and pedestrian access to downtown Durham.
