New Cornwallis Road bike lanes

Cornwallis Road, from Fayetteville Street to Highway 55 has new bike lanes.

From the intersection of Cornwallis and 55, it's only a few hundred yards into Research Triangle Park, where the additional pavement width is already in place for more new bike lanes. The NCDOT contract was awarded in August to repave and stripe the section of Cornwallis from Hwy 55 to Miami Blvd, so by the end of the year, continuous bike lanes will run from Fayetteville to Miami -- connecting the American Tobacco Trail to RTP -- providing cyclists who work in RTP a safer route for their morning and evening commutes.

Thanks to Mary Ross for supplying the pictures.
